Mobile SteamTM Boiler Rental Corp. (Mobile Steam) is happy to announce that it has been acquired by 2Hudson of Sleepy Hollow, NY (the holding company for a leading provider of heating equipment in the NYC Metro area Miller Proctor Nickolas, Inc. (MPN)).
MPN is the NYC Metro area manufacturer’s representative for Cleaver-Brooks, providing sales and service for Cleaver-Brooks products in the area. With a large fleet of reliable high—and low-pressure Cleaver-Brooks boilers, Mobile Steam is now MPN’s sister company.
Jaime Tetrault, MPN & 2Hudson’s CEO and Chairperson shared the following, “MPN has grown to become the largest and most recognized sales and service provider for industrial and commercial boilers in the NYC Metro area. We are constantly in touch with our clients when they require boiler service and identified that rental boilers were critical to getting these clients up and operational in a timely and cost-effective manner. We identified Mobile Steam as one of the most recognized rental boiler providers in the area, and through our Cleaver-Brooks relationship found that a deeper partnership made perfect sense. Adding rental boilers to our scope of services allows us to now provide the entire solution set when a critical client needs help. Additionally, it helps Mobile Steam to identify rental opportunities with higher speed and clarity. The combination of MPN and MSBRC brings a renewed focus on the total service solution that our clients demand from us every day.”
Mobile Steam’s President Jeff Moskowitz is also quoted as saying, “We understand that facility owners and managers have no patience for boiler downtime, which is why we have always prioritized fleet maintenance and field service. Being able to tap into MPN’s boiler service capabilities for our fleet of Cleaver-Brooks boilers further reinforces this principle.
55 Years of Experience
Established in 1969, Mobile Steam Boiler was the region’s first dedicated boiler rental company. Founder Len Moskowitz is proud of the impact the company has had on the real estate and heating industry as a whole. “Before us, building owners would never replace equipment or perform heavy maintenance during the winter. Now owners and their contractors can work throughout the year without concern about heat or hot water. Likewise, landlords no longer have to relocate tenants in the middle of winter should their heating system fail.”
55 years later, the company continues to serve a diverse customer base, including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, hospitals, schools, and real estate firms. To-date Mobile Steam has delivered over fifteen million hours of uninterrupted steam and hot water to tenants, students, patients, and factories. The key to generational success has been the low rate of professional turnover.
President Jeff Moskowitz pointed out that, “our mechanics, pipe fitters and plumbers have seen it all in the decades they’ve been with us. This knowledge rewards our customers during time-sensitive emergencies and complex installations.”
A Bright Future
2Hudson and MPN’s resources will help to drive Mobile Steam’s further expansion into new customer niches and geographies. For example, the firm has just begun to install remote monitoring of key boiler systems in its fleet. This will help engineers and Mobile Steam mechanics anticipate potential issues and more efficiently troubleshoot challenges should they occur.
